IJWF
International Journal of Wildland Fire
The peer-reviewed journal of the association — new and significant articles that advance basic and applied research concerning wildland fire, published by CSIRO Publishing.
About the journal
Rigorous science, global perspective
The International Journal of Wildland Fire is published on behalf of the International Association of Wildland Fire by CSIRO Publishing, on a continuous publication model. Editors-in-Chief: Stefan Doerr, Professor and Director of the Centre for Wildfire Research, Swansea University, UK, and Martin P. Girardin, Research Scientist, Canadian Forest Service, Natural Resources Canada.
The Journal publishes articles that advance understanding of the basic principles of fire as a process, its ecological impact at the stand and landscape level, modelling fire and its effects, and how to effectively and efficiently manage fire — with an international perspective, since wildland fire plays a major social, economic, and ecological role around the globe.
As of January 1, 2024, IJWF is open access. IAWF members still receive free online access to the full text of all issues prior to 2024, right back to Volume 1. All papers are refereed rigorously by the Journal’s Editorial Board and external reviewers.
