Our commitment

Accessibility

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA across this site, and we want to hear when we fall short.

The standard we hold to

This site targets WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Color contrast is checked against a token-level gate on every build, headings follow a real outline, every interactive control is reachable by keyboard, and all imagery carries alternative text or is marked decorative.

Requesting an accommodation

If any content here is not usable for you, contact the IAWF office at execdir@iawfonline.org or (406) 625-7059 and we will provide the information in another format — large print, plain text, or read aloud over the phone. We do not require you to explain why.

Documents and archives

Some historical materials — conference proceedings from earlier decades, scanned abstracts, and third-party PDFs — predate current accessibility standards. If you need one of these documents in an accessible format, ask and we will convert or summarize it for you.

The details

How this commitment is kept

What we test, and how often

Automated axe checks run on every build and block a release on a violation. A manual keyboard and screen-reader pass runs before each major content change.

Known limitations

Older proceedings archives (ZIP bundles and scanned PDFs) and some externally hosted documents at partner sites are not yet fully accessible. Registration and membership are handled by an external portal (MemberClicks) whose accessibility we monitor but do not control.

Third-party content

The journal is hosted by CSIRO Publishing/ConnectSci, and some event registration and newsletter sign-up flows run on partner platforms. Where a partner page blocks you, contact us and we will complete the task with you by email or phone.

Tell us where we fall short

Accessibility reports go straight to the office and are fixed on the next release.
